Build up your self-confidence

Self-confidence is an important factor for every person as it is the one that can control your life. The image we have formed of ourselves can create problems in our daily lives. A low self-confidence is like a cage that we keep closed, thus losing opportunities to spread our wings. Let’s look at some tips on how to increase it.

  • Do not get into the process of comparing yourself to others. Many times we are trapped by images and templates promoted by social media and television. Remember that all this is far from reality and this ideally created world is not real.
  • Focus on your strengths. We all have something good that is important and useful to someone else. It could be your ability to make something with your hands or some other skill. Just highlight it.
  • Listen to the opinion of others but do not adopt it. Just because you ask someone for their opinion on a personal matter does not mean that you should follow through. Listen to your instinct and what your heart tells you. It happens that the different views disorient us and we finally forget our intention.
  • Leave perfectionism behind you. No one is perfect and neither are you. Mania with perfectionism makes us stagnant.
  • Learn something new. A new skill, a new language, anything. When we achieve something in our life it makes us have more confidence and this mood leads us to even greater achievements.
  • Talk to your loved ones. People who loved and cared for us always have something good to say about us. Give yourself this tonic injection.
  • Make a list and record what you have accomplished so far in your life. You can start from your childhood. Have this list in a prominent place or next to your nightstand and whenever you feel that your self-confidence is low read it.
  • Do something you are afraid of. Something small to stimulate you. Get out of your comfort zone and see small miracles happen.
  • See failure with a different eye. See it as an opportunity to change your original plan in order to achieve your goal. Never take your failures personally, think that they work as guides for you.
  • Stimulate yourself by saying a good word. Make positive statements. The subconscious mind listens to your words and your thoughts. “Yes I can do it!”.
  • Do not label yourself negatively because you are sabotaging your development. Get rid of self-criticism.
  • Get rid of the mistakes of the past. Do not punish yourself for something that went wrong. Let it pass and continue on your path. Whatever happened, happened.
  • Expel critical and toxic people from your life. We do not need them. Set your own limits and leave them out of them.

Love yourself
